Street Sweeping November 23 & November 24

Street Sweeping will take place on Tuesday, November 23rd and Wednesday, November 24th, weather permitting. There will be NO PARKING ON CITY STEETS during daylight hours to allow the street sweeper access to the streets. PLEASE DO NOT blow or rake leaves into the street prior to the street sweeping.

Residents of Boone, Campbell, and Kenton Counties are welcome to dispose of their household hazardous waste for FREE at this event. Prior to the event, please visit the Household Hazardous Waste website to print and complete a registration form. Only Accepted Items: Aerosol cans: All aerosol cans will be accepted. Antifreeze: Antifreeze only - NO mixtures will be accepted. Batteries: All batteries will be accepted, including Alkaline, Ni Cad, Lithium, Lead Acid, and more. Corrosives/Flammables: Fuel and kerosene will be accepted. Absolutely NO ammunition, gun powder, explosives, or radioactive items will be accepted. Best Way Disposal is once again accepting items outside of your trash bins. As a reminder, please be respectful when placing your trash and recycling out to the curb. - All mattresses and upholstered furniture should be completely wrapped in plastic to protect the driver. - Leaves and yard waste can be bagged and set out with trash on your scheduled collection day. Branches must be bundled and cut less than 3 feet in length. - Bins cannot be put out before 6:00 PM on the day prior to collection and must be removed by the end of the day of collection. SD1 Working in Your Neighborhood Lakeside Park (Hudson Avenue) Sewer Improvement Project Why is SD1 working in your neighborhood? SD1 is working in your community to install a new storm water sewer pipe and replace an existing sanitary sewer line with a larger, higher capacity pipe. The current sanitary sewer pipe is designed only to carry the water flushed and drained from homes and businesses; however, it is aging and allows storm water from rainfall and snow melt to seep in. This sometimes overwhelms the pipe, increasing the risk of sewage backups in basements and sanitary sewer overflows in nearby creeks, streets and yards. The 2016 Street Program will consist of: East Lakeside Ave.: Dixie Highway to Rock Crystal Lane West Lakeside Ave.: 122 West Lakeside to 106 West Lakeside Fred A. Nemann Co. has been awarded the water main replacement work for Northern Kentucky Water District. A preconstruction meeting was held with the contractor, NKWD and representatives of the City on April 8. Water main work will begin on May 2 and Conclude on July 1. Roadway reconstruction work was awarded to JPS Construction in the amount of $430,550.50. A preconstruction meeting will be scheduled in the coming weeks.
