I am very happy to report that once again our City Council has approved the same tax rate for the Fiscal Year 2016-2017, as we have had for the past nine years. You should receive your tax bill between the middle and the end of October. All taxes are due and payable on or before December 31, 2016. To avoid any penalties, all payments that are mailed in must be postmarked on or before December 31, 2016...

2016 Summer Newsletter

April and May is always a busy time at the City Building. A number of things take place. We prepare the proposed operating budget for the upcoming fiscal year and at the same time prepare for the outdoor spring, summer, and fall projects. This year is certainly no different. Council and I have recently met and reviewed the proposed budget for the upcoming fiscal year. In order to have a new budget adopted it requires two readings of an ordinance. This takes place at the May and June Council meetings. As we have done for the past eight or nine years, the proposed budget was prepared without any intention of an increase in the tax rate for the 2016-2017 Fiscal Year.

The New Year brings several changes at the City Building. On December 31, 2015 we said goodbye to our Deputy City Clerk Susan Laws. Susan had been with us for five years working in a part time capacity. Susan was also editor of our city newsletter. On the days she wasn’t working at our City Building she was at the City of Crescent Springs in the same capacity. Due to a retirement in Crescent Springs, Susan was requested to move into the City Clerk/Treasurer’s full time position. Susan was truly an asset to Lakeside Park and will be missed, but as I told her, she is just a mile down the road
