INDEPENDENCE, Ky. (January 20, 2017) – Kenton County is hosting a second open house to assist in the pre-design process for the new administration building in Covington and to kick-off the Independence Courthouse planning process at the Edgewood Senior Center on January 26th.
Attendees will be able to learn more about the two projects, talk to staff working on them, and submit ideas and questions.
“Both projects are to better improve basic County services for our citizens,” said Judge/Executive Kris Knochelmann. “We want to leave no stone unturned in evaluating every possible idea for the utilization of both properties in Covington and Independence.”
“The first open house provided a great deal of insight and ideas. We want to continue that momentum with this second open house. Early in these processes, we want to get all possibilities on the table.”
Citizens are encouraged to visit the “New Kenton County Administration Building Project” section on the Kenton County website at http://bit.ly/KCAdminBuildingProject to learn more about the new administration building project and submit ideas or questions.
Kenton County is also studying the current utilization of the Courthouse in Independence, and retained GRW Engineering to lead that process. Keeping in mind growth patterns, the County wants to prepare the courthouse campus to meet the current and long-term needs of the community.
The open house will be at the Edgewood Senior Center, 550 Freedom Park Drive, Edgewood, KY 41017, on January 26th from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
