April and May is always a busy time at the City Building. A number of
things take place. We prepare the proposed operating budget for the
upcoming fiscal year and at the same time prepare for the outdoor
spring, summer, and fall projects. This year is certainly no different.
Council and I have recently met and reviewed the proposed budget for
the upcoming fiscal year. In order to have a new budget adopted it
requires two readings of an ordinance. This takes place at the May and June Council meetings.
As we have done for the past eight or nine years, the proposed budget was prepared without any
intention of an increase in the tax rate for the 2016-2017 Fiscal Year.
