Changes to Waste & Recycling

"The current fiscal year marks the end of the three year contract we have with Bestway Disposal for our trash/recycling pickup. This year in an attempt to get the best price possible we teamed up with Fort Mitchell and bid it together. During the past three years, while we enjoyed a lower rate, there have been changes in the industry that have prompted higher costs. In reviewing the bids we received from Bestway, Rumpke, and Republic, the lowest price available for the term of the contract is with Bestway Disposal. With that being said, the lowest price does come with a change. For many years we have been accustomed to trash being picked up twice weekly, Monday and Thursday, and recycling every Thursday. Animal Shelter Introduces New Tool for the Communtiy

The Kenton County Animal Shelter is excited to introduce a new "Lost, Found and Available for Adoption" tool on the County website for the community. This tool is powered by the software ShelterBuddy and will allow citizens to search for animals that are lost & found, as well as view animals that are available for adoption at the shelter. "The idea behind this is to enhance our communication with the public," said Animal Shelter Director Elizabeth Cochran. "With this new tool, citizens will be able to look at animals that have come in as a stray, those that have been found in the community, and those that are being held with a Good Samaritan." BICYCLE RODEO SATURDAY, JUNE 3

Bicycle Rodeo Saturday, June 3, 2017 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Lakeside Presbyterian Church   This bicycle rodeo provides children ages 4 to 12, the opportunity to ride through an obstacle course designed to enhance their riding ability and improve their safety. Participants will learn how to conduct safety checks on their bicycles, proper hand signals and maneuvering techniques. Public safety professionals will also be present to provide safety information and resources to attendees. Participants will need to bring their own bicycles and safety gear. **This event is free and open to the public.** Any inquiries regarding this event can be directed to the Lakeside Park-Crestview Hills Police at 859-331-5358.

On Monday, May 8, 2017, Mayor David Jansing and City Council honored Lakeside Presbyterian Pastor J. Chris Torrey with a Proclamation honoring his many years of service to his congregation and our community.  Pastor Torrey will be retiring at the end of May after dedicating many years to the service of others and Our Gracious Lord.  Sunday, May 28, 2017 will be Pastor Chris Torrey Day in the City of Lakeside Park.     Congratulations on your retirement, Pastor Torrey, with our sincerest "Thanks!"

Armed Forces Day 5K Run/Walk

You are invited to participate in the Armed Forces Day 5K Run/Walk event on Saturday, May 20, 2017.  The proceeds from this event benefits the Kenton County Veterans Memorial in the Crescent Springs Memorial Park. Please see the attached flyer for details and registration form. The Soldiers will be arriving in NKY on May 19th. We would like to greet them with a picnic style dinner at the Crescent Springs Park at 6:00 p.m. We are expecting about  30-40 soldiers and their families, with total guest list about 65.
