7th Annual Kenton County Farm Harvest Tour

The 7th Annual Kenton County Farm Harvest Tour is just around the corner. This annual free family event is going to be Saturday, September 16, 2017, and will showcase 16 stops on this year's tour. The agriculture community is opening the farm gates and inviting locals onto their farm as they show what life is like for local farm families. 9am- 5pm. Rain or shine. For more information... CLEAN OUT YOUR MEDICINE CABINET TO PREVENT DRUG ABUSE AND PROTECT OUR COMMUNITY Northern Kentucky residents can safely dispose of any expired or unneeded medications, especially opioid pain medication and other narcotics, to help prevent misuse, abuse or addiction. To facilitate safe disposal, drug disposal pouches are available for free to Northern Kentuckians at more than 30 locations, including all Kroger pharmacies in Northern Kentucky. Using the pouches, individuals can safely dispose of medications at home. “As Northern Kentuckians continue to work together to fight the heroin epidemic in our community, we must take steps to prevent misuse or abuse of prescription pain medications and narcotics,” said Rep. MOMs Club of Fort Wright Area Looking for other moms to hang out with during the day? Join the MOMs Club of Fort Wright Area! Our group is open to any mom in the area (Crescent Springs, Crestview Hills, Edgewood, Elsmere, Erlanger, Fort Mitchell, Fort Wright, Lakeside Park, Park Hills, or Villa Hills) who are home with her kid(s) during the day, either full or part-time. We plan at least two activities for you and your child(ren) each week, along with moms night outs, charitable events, and banquets! Lakeside Park- Crestview Hills named one of the 20 Safest Cities in Kentucky

The 20 Safest Cities in Kentucky - 2017  You have plenty to brag about if you’re lucky enough to call one of these Kentucky cities home. On average, the twenty safest cities in the state reported fewer than one violent crime per 1,000 people. That’s almost 90% less than the regional average, according to the most recent FBI crime report. The occurrence of property crime was also notably low, with just ten of these crimes reported per 1,000 residents. Analyzing the FBI crime report further, we discovered these twenty safety-minded cities cited a total of just 358 burglaries—remarkably few considering they represent over 180,000 citizens. 65 & Older: HEX Sign-up

If you have or will be turning 65 or older in 2017 you are eligible for a Homestead Exemption (HEX) which would give you a discounted rate on City and county tax bills. There will be a representative at the Fort Mitchell City Building to help you sign up and answer any questions you may have on August 16th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
